About Us
The teaching team at Global Avionics Training Specialists, LLC is Fred Polak and Greg Nieciecki. Combined, they have over 75 years of aviation experience in both fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft.
We are located in Phoenix, Arizona. We can conduct classes at a customer's facility or here in Phoenix to better accommodate multiple classes, or students from multiple companies attending the same class.
Training when you want it, where you want it.
Fred Polak
Fred has been in and associated with the aviation avionics community for over 40 years.
His Career Highlights include:
- Flying aircraft carrier based anti-submarine warfare aircraft while serving in the United States Navy
- While working for Sikorsky Aircraft on their S-61 program, Fred was the AFCS ground school instructor for the Presidential Aircraft.
- In 1978 Fred was hired by Sperry Avionics to start a customer training program for business jet operators and OEM's.
- While working for the Honeywell Aerospace Group, Fred authored the popular book "Avionics Past & Present". He also wrote many of the pilot and system description and operating manuals in use today. Fred created many different avionics training programs at Honeywell and instructed and created instructional system design on a wide platform of systems and aircraft.
Many Business Jet and Regional Airline Operators worldwide have known Fred from their past dealings with him as a Staff Principal Training Engineer with Honeywell's Aerospace Group. Fred retired from Honeywell in August of 2005. Now, through Global Avionics Training Specialists, LLC, Fred is available to your company, to provide the same high caliber and level of training you have come to expect.
Greg Nieciecki
Greg brings over 35 years experience with military and commercial aircraft and their associated systems.
In the mid-to-late 1970's, Greg worked in the Flight Systems Division of the Sperry Corporation. One of his first projects was the TERN 100 Area (RNAV) Navigation System. In the spring of 1995 Greg transitioned from Product Development Engineering into Customer Support and Customer Training.
His Career Highlights include:
- Original design team member for the "all digital" Boeing 757/767 FMS.
- Provided flight test support on the B-767 flight test program.
- FMS and Flight Deck Displays integrator for the British Airways 747 retrofit program.
- Customer Support Engineer for the Honeywell/Trimble HT-9000 & HT-9100 GPS Navigation Systems.
- Instructor for Honeywell Systems on B747/757/767/777.
Greg is also an accomplished pilot with airline operational experience ranging from "heavy haulers" (B747 & B777) to "light twins" (A320 and MD-80/90 series) aircraft.
Like Fred, Greg is also retired from Honeywell and is ready to provide the same high level of support you have come to expect.
